Singing is one thing, interpretations matters a lot, good reggae music  impresses King Ewuare II of Benin Kingdom. At Obaland academy, our music critics and in house teams,do screen severely. Blessed memory Lucky Dube had paved way for Africa reggae artistes before the iconic singer was assassinated by hoodlums.During his musical career, his sophisticated and velvety vocals were incomparable to any Africa reggae singer probably worldwide, not even when vst plugging are put together,could deliver exactly what his a capella does. Reggae superstar Ben Priest became super stardom after the Lucky Dube’s family awarded Ben Priest a contract to manage renowned band of Lucky Dube, as a lead vocalist to deliver those pitches of Lucky Dube, because it was visible and noted for his alike vocals, where he positively stormed various concerts alongside with Lucky Dube‘s daugther Nkulee Dube. For us at Obaland academy, we couldn’t accept this recognition until the “Yes you Can crooner” Ben Priest visited our guest room in Benin city, where he performed a cappella, obaland academy was dumbfounded and  recalled  the ongoing storms and anthems of blessed memory legendary Lucky Dube. Beside the Obaland Royal Awards 2018 honours, awarded to Ben Priest, the academy has certified Ben Priest, Daddy Fresh, King Wadada, Rymzo , Jetho Lion, Dyckoy, Baba Fryo, Winning Jah,Naxis Dg, Lt ShortgunDaddy Showkey and seven others to represent Nigeria reggae worldwide, also assigned to open three consecutive reggae concerts for all independence day in Federal republic of Nigeria, as the above named singers could deliver public friendly and evergreen reggae songs, beyond recent selling reggae albums in global market .
